Music lovers should start seeing lower CD prices in time for Christmas shopping, according to the world's largest music company.
Universal Music Group, which controls about 25 percent of the world's music market, said Wednesday that 19 of its 20 largest retail customers had signed on to its plan to lower suggested retail prices on new CD releases to $12.99.
That group includes Minnesota-based retail giants Best Buy Co. Inc., Target Corp. and Musicland Group Inc., as well as Wal-Mart Stores Inc."
