The Brownsville Herald

The Hermanos Unidos motorcycle club on Sunday presented the Brownsville Police Department with a check for $1,000 as a contribution to the annual Christmas for Kids toy drive held in December.

The presentation was held at C&C Wings in Brownsville after Police Chief Carlos Garcia drew the winning raffle ticket.

“We’re glad other organizations give money to our department for the kids,” Garcia said, adding that Christmas for Kids is a real benefit for needy children in Brownsville.

The winner got four passes to Schlitterbahn Beach Water Park, a $75 gift card dinner at La Jaiba Seafood Restaurant on the Island, a two-night stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites Beach Resort and $100 in spending money.

It's holiday time at Great Yarmouth's Elizabethan House Museum!

People across the borough are slipping into a lower gear, easing up

on the work load and getting into the mood of the season - the Christmas season that is.

Staff at the South Quay Merchant's house are busy preparing a range

of Christmas crafts on a Victorian theme to entertain youngsters during the long hot summer.

Volunteers hit on the idea as “something different” to educate

and amuse children who are learning about festive food, decorations, Christmas cards and Christmas greenery.
